In Daking, we have found a manufacturer following in the tradition of the great console manufacturers like Trident, Neve and API. Geoff Daking, long a premier name in the recording industry, has used his extensive experience in recording and studio setup to create a line of studio products whose sound quality and workmanship are second to none. Factor in their reasonable cost and Daking's excellent product support, and you have a value unmatched in the pro audio industry today.

In the late 80s the music business began to change with the advent of MIDI and sequencers. This was the start of home studios and the beginning of the demise of commercial recording studios.

As a studio owner, people would come to Geoff Daking for advice on all sorts of subjects. What console to buy..what mics to use...what amps sound best?

At that time, outboard gear as we know it today wasn't really available. It became clear to him that there would be a growing demand for were really good mic-pres and equalizers.

In Geoff's opinion (as well as many other professional engineers), the best sounding console ever made was the Trident "A" Range...which was built only for a short time in the early '70s.

He called Phil Wagner who was then president of Trident USA and asked him about reissuing the "A" Range modules. Phil said that Trident had no interest and asked "Why don't you do it?" They ended up selling Geoff the schematic for $50. He borrowed an A Range module from Lenny Kravitz' studio and spent about a year developing what is now the Daking Mic-Pre EQ.

So, what makes Daking Audio different? Well, for starters all our products are based on a philosophy of "Keep it Simple".

The Daking motto is "Get Home Early!" By that, we mean, make gear that sounds great and is easy to use. We make all our equipment totally flexible without superfluous controls.

For example, in a great mic-pre, an input transformer is the essential component. Follow that with a discrete "Class A" amplifier with single sided power and your done.

A great equalizer should have fixed frequencies, each tuned to a specific point. Hi and Low frequencies are shelving while the mid range frequencies are peaking and use custom inductors.

A great compressor must be flexible and easy to use. We use FETs for gain change and peak detectors for control. Once again, we make our compressors with all the tools you need and without superfluous controls.

All of our products are built in the U.S.A., are lead free and ROHS compliant.

Our customer service is unparalleled because treat each and every customer as our top priority.
