The Daking Mic Pre IV MKII is designed to be your “go-to” front end on any source and yet still is affordable. It is a 4 channel mic pre/line in/DI device offering four individual channels of high end Class A preamplifiers with Jensen input and output transformers in a single rack space.  Configured for adaptability to old or new ribbons, dynamics or condenser microphones, the Mic Pre IV MKII offers 70dB of gain and 24dB of headroom to operate under any condition.  Like a vintage console channel, switches move each input between mic input, a line input or an instrument “DI” input.  Wide band, low distortion Jensen input transformers lend their magic and XLR/TRS Neutrik input combo jacks make connections simple.

The US made Daking Mic Pre IV MKII utilizes all discrete Class A circuitry with high gain, using the same Jensen transformers on inputs and outputs we use on our other gear. It is a fine example of exemplary audio quality and craftsmanship in the tradition of a great British console.  Coming in under $600 per channel.  Each input offers a stepped (5db) gain control using Daking’s signature aluminum knobs, a 20-segment LED level meter with +24db peak indicator, switchable +48V phantom power, switchable input phase and switchable 20dB pad.

The Daking Mic Pre IV MKII is housed in a robust all stainless steel enclosure with an outboard 48volt DC power supply in a separate housing, offering not only durability but shielding from noise and RF interference. The attention to detail extends to high end internal components, including gold bifurcated contacts on all relay switching. The supplied universal power supply can operate at any voltage and is suitable for use anywhere.
