SM200Ak
The SM 200AK is the largest monitor in the Sonodyne range. It's an active bi-amped nearfield monitor with 150W powered 8" Kevlar woofer and 100W powered 1" metal dome tweeter smoothly reproduces 40 to 22,000 Hz. Just like it's smaller predecessors, the SM 50AK and SM 100AK, the SM 200AK's non parallel enclosure and well-considered shape contribute to the open high-end, honest mid-range, and tight bass that continue to earn the loyalty of engineers in the know. The SM 200AK also incorporate room-compensating bass and treble tilts as well as a bass roll-off. If an end user's control room is on the shy side of perfect, engaging one (or more) of it's four dip switches can help compensate for a "difficult" acoustical environment as well as spacial loading. The SM 200AK enclosure combines the best qualities of wood and aluminum. The rigid aluminum die-cast baffle ensures that the kevlar LF woofer and the metal dome tweeter are securely mounted and vibration is minimized. Gently curving baffle edges keep diffraction to a minimum. This - along with an integral tweeter waveguide - delivers precise, dimensional imaging, with exceptional on and off axis response.
