MA-200

The MA-200 is the least expensive all tube mic from Mojave, using a large diaphragm single sided capsule with a fixed cardioid polar pattern, a remote high voltage power supply (to power the tube) and a low noise floor. Many people love the original 251 for its single sided Cardioid mode, combined with a tube amplifier and a big old output transformer. The MA-200 combines those same features at an amazing price.

Built to David Royer’s elegant circuit design and specifications, the MA-200 contains high end audiophile grade electronic components sourced in the US to provides a warm, smooth and full response without the harshness or high frequency distortion found in many other modern condenser mics. A hand-selected 1” capsule, USA-made Jensen transformer, and mil-spec New Old Stock JAN 5840 vacuum tube add up to serve as the keys to the MA-200’s performance. The included power supply has an internal voltage switch for international travel.

The MA-200 should be used anywhere you would use a top tier, large diaphragm tube microphone. It’s an excellent mic for vocals, voice over/broadcast, acoustic instruments, piano, orchestras, and drum room/overheads. The single sided capsule can provide nice proximity effect for that “larger than life” vocal quality. Any source you want to capture with a full bodied, smooth response, the MA-200 provides excellent performance.

Following the strict QC of all Mojave’s mics, each MA-200 is burned in with the included external power supply and cable set for 24hrs, then tested and evaluated before packaging. Each MA-200 also includes a shock mount and hard-shell case within a case.
