"The Bock 507 easily rivals the ELAM and Brauner," concluded Vig. "Of course, you choose a mic to create a certain vibe within the larger context of a recording, and the ELAM and Brauner are certainly going to remain on the front line. But the Bock has given me another option for a go-to vocal mic. David Bock has made an incredible sounding microphone. The only question now is... should I buy a second one? It did so well on individual instruments that I'd love to hear a piano with a pair of 507s... or a stereo pair for room mics on drums. That would be amazing!"

TRANSAUDIO GROUP SUPPORTS NERF - BIG TIME!

06/08/09

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 2009: In what has become a much-anticipated industry mainstay of hobnobbing, shenanigans, and sun-drenched good times, the Nashville Engineer Relief Fund (NERF) hosted the 12th annual AudioMasters Benefit Golf Tournament on May 21 and 22 at the Harpeth Hills Golf Course. In excess of 200 audio professionals showed up to demonstrate their golfing prowess (or, in many cases, lack thereof!) and, perhaps more importantly, to contribute money to NERF.

Established thirteen years ago by the Nashville chapter of AES, NERF raises funds for Nashville engineers that experience serious health or financial crises. TransAudio Group, distributor and importer of high-end professional audio equipment, has sponsored a hole at the NERF tournament for years. This year TransAudio-sponsored Hole Five and organized the donation of several

(drool-inducing) pieces of gear for golfers.

Golfers arriving at Hole Five registered for three different drawings one for a REDDI Tube DI, courtesy of Peter Montessi at A Designs Audio, a P-SOLO mic pre-amp, courtesy of Tim Spencer at TRUE Systems, and a Bock Audio 195 studio condenser microphone, courtesy of David Bock Audio and TransAudio Group. Stan Dacus won the A Designs REDDI, which many engineers claim to be the world's very best DI. Neal Cappellino walked away with the Bock Audio 195, the studio workhorse found in most studios. The super-neutral TRUE Systems P-SOLO mic pre was won by Pete Abbott.

But TransAudio Group didn't stop there. The silent auction generates much needed cash for NERF and TransAudio donated gear here as well. Sean Sullivan walked away with a Daking Mic Pre One as the highest bidder at the event's auction!

"TransAudio Group is proud to support the important work of the Nashville Engineer Relief Fund," said Bowman. "Of course, the tournament is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends - a most enjoyable form of charity! Unlike so many of us, the lucky winners that walked away with TransAudio Group-donated gear were excited to get back to 'work' so that they could put their new toys to use!"
