Lehmann Audio Black Cube Headphone Amp
The Black Cube Linear Pro is designed and manufactured in Germany. Using only the finest components and an obsessively audiophile signal path, the Black Cube Linear is ideal for computer mixing, live monitoring, studio recording, or any professional application where truthful, fatigue-free output is paramount. Its circuitry and adjustable maximum output gain optimizes performance for any headphone impedance or sensitivity.
The Black Cube Linear's specifications hint at the distinctive aural experience awaiting users whose expectations have been unwittingly lowered by exposure to the profusion of cheap headphone amps that reside even in otherwise "pro" gear! Frequency response extends from 10 Hz (-0.3 dB) to 35 kHz (-1 dB). The signal-to-noise ratio is better than 95 dB at 0 dB gain, with greater than 70 dB channel separation at 10 kHz. Total harmonic distortion is less than 0.001% at 6 mW and 300 ohms. Selectable gain (0, 10, or 20 dB) effectively optimizes the output level of the zero global feedback Class A output stage.
What others say about the Black Cube Linear:
"It is stunning and it absolutely gives me 'what you hear is what you get' and that's all I want." - Maarten de Boer, The Masters
"Phase purity and transparent sound are essential in our recordings - and in the monitoring too." - Fritz de With, STS Digital
"... clarity and directness that doesn't sound artificial. Its sound is true and my reference for dynamic headphones." - Andreas Spreer, TACET
"The Black Cube Linear sounds great, it's a basic element in the flight case when we record outside Motor Music." - Steven Maes, Motor Music
"It creates a relaxed, open, neutral and detailed acoustic image ... with a far superior reproduction of spatiality, low frequencies and transients." StudioMagazin / 10.2008
"The Black Cube is built like straight out of the picture book: mumetalshielded toroidal transformer, ALPS potentiometer, precious connectors, electrolytcs by BC Components, Vishay foil-caps. But its secret is the output stage without degenerative feedback, sounding fantastically open, fine and musical with every headphone. The best transistor headphone amplifier known by AUDIO." - Audio magazin / 4.2009
